FS004 - Year of The Now
22-25/09/25
FourteenSixteen present: Year of The Now, a group show celebrating 10,000 years of Quicktime Player and ESPN NFL Blitz “Holding a phone’s flashlight against the eye, the light becomes the sun. Indoor and outdoor, all at once. There is no spectacle because everything is spectacular. Our current era is defined by the governance of signs and symbols over us. Signs which are mostly intangible to us, symbols which bear no meaning to us, we are left to our own devices, independently creating myths based on this semiotic debris that we slowly collect over time. We collect this debris in our pockets, in our sleeves, we unknowingly display it on our bodies, we allow ourselves to be chastised over it. It becomes the basis of our own invented narrative, our safe mode.” Opening Monday 22nd September 18:00-21:00 Running 22nd – 25th September Exit Glasgow, 96 Maxwell Street, G1 4EQ Feat. Hannah Rose Stewart, Tommy Ryoma, Amelie Mckee, Joana Azevedo, Johnny Brown, Dhowj Gurung, Dominic Cooper, Jacob Heaton + Sorley MacRae
